Wipe the walls of residual dust with a clean, damp cloth. I guess that using a oi-based primer over a water based primer over the final skim coat would give some measure of moisture protection, but I am not sure that it would. Painting on top of wallpaper is usually very ugly. It went over skim so surprisingly well I flipped. We couldn’t afford to re-sheet rock the walls so Dywall just sponge painted them and they look wonderful! They are so easy to clean, really! No need to be so snarky.

I used the taping knife or even my hand to apply and spread about the wall and then smoothed it with the taping knife. As it turns out I won’t have to skim the whole area thank goodnessjust where the scraper dug in and exposed the rock.

I took off the wallpaper from our bathroom. Sand the walls with an electric sander equipped with a dust bag.

OK, I need to stop thinking about this now. Here are some links to a before and after picture of the worst wall. An acrylic primer is technically the best as the acrylic hardens on top, but either will do just fine. Tto I wipe the whole thing down with stuff that traps dust, similar to how you wipe wood down after sanding and before staining such as a non-oily tack cloth or even Swiffer dry cloths — one of my sponsors just FYI, but I used them for this reason before they ever sponsored me, ha!
